It doesn’t matter if you're just starting out or have been in business for years, If you want to make money with your home based business you have to promote it. Right?
What's the best way to promote your business? How can you get the word out about your business in the most affordable way? Well, these marketing strategies will help your business find new customers without spending a fortune.
Find your target audience: It’s obvious you need to define your market. You have to find the people that can relate with the product or services your provide. So, instead of smacking your offers all over the place, focus on which people you can serve with your offers.
Get your own website: If you defined your audience, where do you lead them to? Is it’s your network marketing companies page? What if you can lead them to your own page! If you don’t have a website yet, go check GoDaddy.com if your domain is available. And if you are not that good at designing, ThemeForest provides templates and tools that make it easy to create a basic website. This site is based on WordPress and I’ve build it for less than $ 100,00.
Social media: Yes, we all love social media, but most marketers abuse it instead of use it. You have to learn to leverage social media and lead them to your own page. Most popular is of course Facebook and I have a post about that here. But most important is that you don't spam them with constant promos for what you sell. Provide value to your target audience.
Be professional: Yes of course Robert! Isn’t that obvious? No, it’s not that obvious. I see so many people doing it wrong. They have profile pictures with dogs in it or a sportscar etc. Make sure that your profile pictures and or banners are at least displaying YOU. And another tip, let’s say 4a: It’s important that this profile pictures and banners on all your content are the same.
Aim for the searchers: This might be the best tip ever. You see, most people looking for a sale and target people who want to buy. But what do you do before you buy? Yes, you search on google! Fact: 95% search before they buy and 98% of marketers aim for the buyers. Make sense? Let me explain. If there are 100 people on each side (buyers / sellers) 95 buyers search and only 5 buy directly. Then there are 100 sellers. 98 of them aim for the 5 direct buyers and only 2 aim for the 95 searchers. So if you want to stand out, target the searchers by providing valuable content they are searching for.
Blogging: There is a lot to cover about blogging. The best thing about blogging is, whatever you put out there, it’s stays there. So it’s possible you make sales from a blogpost that you did years ago from now. Another great thing about blogging is that you are in control. It’s yours and you can use it as a hub to attract people from all of your other content. So, if you are serious about starting blogging or are a blogger but don’t get the leads and sales you want? This course by Ray Higdon will set you up in days. I didn’t know anything about blogging before I got this course and I’m honest, it’s not that complicated as you might think it is.
Consistency: If you want to be an authority in your niche, it’s important to be consistent in your content output. Whether it’s mailing, blogging or posting on social media, consistency is KEY. If you want to get the “know, like and trust” factor with your audience, than you need to provide valuable content on a regular basis.
congruent: When you focus on your target audience, it’s important that the content you put out is congruent with your products or services. Yes it’s ok to post some funny things, ask questions or about your personal life. But I’d say, let at least 80% of your content be valuable information.
Persistency: Yeah, you’ve probably heard this one before! But it’s so true and even this hasn’t directly anything to do with online promotion, it’s one of the most important keys of your business. You have to understand that it takes time to build your business online and attract your target audience. You can run some Facebook ads or advertise on other media to speed up a little bit, but stay on track. Be persistence, even if you don’t feel like it. Keep going and going and going.
