Prospecting Your Target Market.
People tend to think that marketing is nothing more than getting your offer in front of as many eyes as humanly possible. That’s why you see so many people throwing their opportunity all over Social Media. It’s obvious that you think that way because it’s never been taught to you to do it from a marketers perspective.
Most people joining a network marketing company don’t have a sales background and therefore not educated with any form of marketing. And marketing is a huge asset of this industry as it also has the word in it. Do you agree with me, that if marketing is a huge part of this business, why it’s not that often a part of your companies education?
Now instead of targeting every single human being, with nothing to less results, could you imagine how your business would look like if you target a specific audience that actually might benefit from your services, products or opportunity?
A big part of marketing is getting the right products in front of the right people at the right time.
In this post I’ll make it easy for you to understand and cut it into three steps. Who, What and Where…
#1 Who is your target market?
Your target market can be defined in a view simple steps. The more specific you are in this process, the more effective your marketing would be. The time you take to ensure targeting properly will allow you to experience the success you want in your prospecting.
- Age Range
- Gender
- Location
- Interests
The awesome thing about this, is that you can play with it until you’ve got the perfect prospect. This is also called your avatar. The more parts you add to the list, the more laser targeted you can market your offers.
Secret that may help many is to simply target an audience that is similar to themselves.
When the product or service that you will be promoting is one that you personally use;
#2 What can you solve?
In other words: What can your products, services or opportunity solve for your target audience?
This is a two-part question.
- What is your target market's problem / challenge / obstacle
- How could your offer solve that problem / challenge / obstacle
How can your products, services or opportunity you’re promoting help or serve your target market?
This compound question will allow you to find people from two angles.
- You can find people by identifying any problem, challenge or obstacle that your offer can solve for them
- If you can identify solutions, you can simply put those solutions in front of the target market that is experiencing those specific problems, challenges or obstacles.
#3 Where is your target market?
There are many places where you can find costumers who are exactly looking for what you are promoting. But if you want measurable and focused result it’s important to determine which strategy you want to use. Instead of going everywhere and getting lost, it’s way more effective just to focus on one thing.
Because there are so many places to find online with pools of people who could be your perfect avatar, I’ll just simply use the example of Social Media.
Here are a few of the places you can find millions of people where you can reach out to.
- YouTube

There are a lot of people to be found both online or offline. In this post, I used online marketing as an example and let’s be honest, that’s where most people can be found.
You can promote anything to anyone and probably get some type of results. Or you can target a specific market to get focused results.
instead of trying to sell or prospect to random people, you now know how you can actually focus on people that are looking for what you have to offer.
Now, if you want to build your business online and think this is way too complicated for you, take a deep breath my friend it’s not that hard as you might think it is. You just simply need some proper education and the right tools to start with. The rest will come naturally as I can guide you step by step through the process.
